In the Project Room we are showing DATA, an exhibition by Julius Brauckmann and Dennis Siering.
Works by Julius Brauckmann make a theme of art as an operating system. A work such as Namedropping (2014), in which a parrot enumerates art facts about the 50 most expensive artists, is one example of his often humorous treatment of conditions having to do with art production.
At first glance, sculptures and paintings by Dennis Siering look like the result of scientific research. Looking more closely, they reflect the rapid and irreversible change of the world caused by mankind.
Julius Brauckmann was born in Krefeld in 1986. He studied both at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Hamburg and at the Kunsthochschule für Medien in Cologne. Most recently he received the Prize for Young Art awarded by the Kunstverein Siegen for his solo exhibition “Deadline”. His video work “Titles” is currently being shown at the HMKV in Dortmund. He lives and works in Düsseldorf.
Dennis Siering was born in Solingen in 1983. He studied art at the HfG Offenbach am Main and at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf under Prof. Hubert Kiecol, among others. He is a scholarship recipient from the Studienstiftung des Deutsche Volkes and lives and works in Frankfurt and Offenbach am Main.
