Our fascination for the work of Charlotte Posenenske (1930 – 1985) had been the initial point for the upcoming exhibition. In just ten years, during the 1960s, Charlotte Posenenske developed her conceptual and performative work, until she decided 1968 to stop her artistic work, as she could not believe any longer in the possibility to change the social context via art.
We thank the artist’s administrator Dr. Burkhard Brunn who planned this exhibition as curator. In the fifth exhibition in a row on the subject of „reduction“, Burckhard Brunn shows 20 positions including works by Charlotte Posenenske discussing different ways of minimalizing: reductions of size, weight, material, form, content and of artistic method.
