In her solo-exhibition “Toter Winkel” (“Dead Angle”), Schirin Kretschmann turns the perception of the empty exhibition space into physical experience. The conceptual and material transformations she realizes in her interventions put on the relations between the viewer, the work and the setting underneath permanent change.

In the gallery’s upper floor, the artist realizes a finely sieved pigment floor work of geometrical strength. Not every area might be visible equally well; by and by, dust, pollen and insects accumulate on its vulnerable surface – lots of things fluctuating unnoticed into the air by day and night and caught by the pigment like by a detector as a silent manifestation of the passing time.
